[LinuxPPS] LinuxPPS with Atom driver problems

Hello All,

I've managed to get both Linux 2.6.17.9 complied with LinuxPPS
(latest, from 'Git') and ntpd (4.2.2p3) complied with the Atom patch.

When I boot up I see the proc interface with the four 8250 drivers. I
have a PPS source plugged into ttyS0 but at first I didn't see any
activity on /proc/pps/00/assert or /proc/pss/00/clear. I got a little
desperate and started fiddling, I tried 'cat /dev/ttyS0', and
suddently /proc/pps/00/assert started incrementing. Is this a feature
or a bug?

I'm not having much luck getting NTP to recieve anything from PPS,
reach is 0. Could the problem descibed above account for this? Anyone
got any ideas?

Thanks,

Tom
