I see. I #ifdeffed around the original code, in your example (using the
extra variable in the struct) we just replace some code.

Looks nice and clean. I was wondering about the ~0 but any integer would
have worked?

Compiling it athis moment. Will try it out soon.
Maybe Philip can test teh patch as well and/or update the NMEA patches
on his website?
