Well, stuff appears to work.
I have 2.6.17 running.
I was wondering about the /proc/pps/00/assert and clear files.

I get stuff like:
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619109.3000 #510
1150619109.200006000 #510
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619117.4000 #518
1150619117.200005000 #518
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619120.2000 #521
1150619120.200004000 #521
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619121.6000 #522
1150619121.200003000 #522
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619122.4000 #523
1150619122.200003000 #523
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619122.4000 #523
1150619122.200003000 #523
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619123.5000 #524
1150619123.200005000 #524
[root at epia pps]# cat 00/*
1150619123.5000 #524
1150619123.200005000 #524

How should I read the different timestamps? (different amounts of digits
after the point)

Kind regards,
Udo
