[Linuxpps] only use PPS?

Hi,

Would it also be possible to *only* use the PPS signal and not the time
indication? I've heard somewhere that the timefield of gps is not very
accurate (while the PPS signal is). Which is something I see from
running things for hours: currently the offset is +/- -170
