First try to get LinuxPPS patch against current supported linux
version from the git repository:

   $ git diff linux-vanilla master > ntp-pps-2.6.10-rc2.diff

I did it and published it on my site:

   http://ftp.enneenne.com/pub/misc/linuxpps/patches/

then try to applay it on linux 2.6.18. I should work. If not, please
report errors.

Yes, it could be but there are two issues to fix:

1) add spinlock support for SMP architectures. Easy task, just needs
time...

2) resolve the RFC compatibility. See
«http://wiki.enneenne.com/index.php/LinuxPPS_support#RFC_considerations».

Maybe if several people ask for point 2) we can win! :)
