I don't know, but even with (I assume) the nano-second timekeeping
in the kernel the nano-second field in my clockstats file just bounces
around a LOT more than I remember.

this is NOT a linuxPPS problem, and possibly just a bad memory.

But, I need to get my freebsd machine up and running again so I can
do the experiment there and do a real comparison.

Other than that, everything seems to be running fine.
