Inclusion of LinuxPPS in the kernel is near. So no issue there.

But now we have to make a difference when we open a device on a LinuxPPS
platform, right?
In all other cases we can use the code as it is.
So we are the exception.

A small patch, but hard to get it accepted by the ntpd folks, I guess.
