[LinuxPPS] Any solution to an old problem?

There have been a number of recent posts about a problem with PPS
and the ATOM driver, but since I dont use the ATOM code with the
ONCORE driver I cant comment on this problem.

I would like to know if there has been any 'progress' on the problem
that was first reported back on 15Jan, and discussed several times since
that seems to require a user to

	run ppsldisc
	run ntpd
	wait 60 seconds
	kill ntpd and ppsldisc
	run ppsldisc
	run ntpd

(thanks to Rodolfo for the above suggestion)

to get things started? And tho I havent been following the ATOM
thread, has anyone tried this sequence on that problem?

I wouldnt want fixing this problem to stall getting the linuxPPS code into
the next available kernel, but it is clear that there is a problem
and we need someone who can do the debugging to fix it.

The above start/kill/restart sequence just shows how little we know.
