Endless issues building both. Right now, on five machines, I'm stuck 
with kernel 2.6.17, and thus LinuxPPS 2.2.0 (and tired of living in the 
past). My response to the failure is to bring the system up to date 
first. I just want to avoid known trouble-causing distributions, if any 
exist.
