Full ACK.

LinuxPPS is until now still something special in a special community.
3 Years after the work started (and is in a useable shape now) "nothing" is
decided. It's a frustration for all of us.

In the mean time: do the necessary things yourself.
(Patch as it is to your requirements ...)

This means for me: after knowing of John's patch I have interest in doing some
real ntp with pps again.
I run machines which have little uptime because they are switched on and off
regulary. If they can't sync their time to below videoframe-precision within
minutes (and hold it there!): sorry, it was not useable for me.

So long I had only interest in "details" of interrupting etc. but could not
use or set up a _good_ for_me_ ntp-server nor -client.

Bernhard

(Did you notice in the kernel thread: Ulrich Windl is alive!)
