Looks like our known problem, yes.
Cause as of yet unknown. (as far as I know)
There is some info in the list archives of previous months about what we
tried.

Should work better with pps-ldisc but ldattach should work, sometime,
someway.

I fiddled with ldattach's terminal attributes, stty, comapring to the
pps-ldisc behaviour, etc.
Couldn't get ldattach to work reliably yet.
