[LinuxPPS] What is this message trying to tell me?

Im sure I could go read the code, but can someone tell me what this
message trying to tell me?  Its coming up from the Gordeev changes,
and Im still running with his changes as of February, so this may have
been changed/fixed in a more recent release.
