[LinuxPPS] testing PPS with ktimer

Hello,

I'm trying to test ntpd+PPS with ktimer before I write a new PPS kernel driver.

I'm using Fedora 14 x86 host with a 2.6.36 kernel built with ktimer
enabled and ntp 4.2.7p79.

I've added 'server 127.127.22.0 minpoll 4 maxpoll 4' to the ntp.conf
(in addition to the fedora.pool.ntp.org servers) and running ntpd in
debug mode shows the clock driver polling every 16 seconds and the
kernel messages show the fetch every second. Other than that, I see
no indication that the ktimer PPS source is actually being used to
discipline the clock.

Did I miss something obvious? or a patch? should ktimer work in this
configuration?

Thanks,
