I am having troubles with a CentOS v6 (64bit) install and setting up
LinuxPPS.

Kernel version is : 2.6.32-71.29.1.el6 (centos provided kernel)

Out of the box, the PPS kernel module is available. And when I load it I
get the following:

Command: modprob pps_core

Dmesg output:

LinuxPPS API ver. 1 registered

Software ver. 5.3.6 - Copyright 2005-2007 Rodolfo Giometti
giometti at linux.it

I have a Garmin 18LVC attached to ttyS0, using minicom I have confirmed
NMEA output at 48008N1.

I have tried various ways to create the PPS device without any luck.

My lsmod output for pps is:

pps_core 11160 0

ldattach gives me an error:

ldattach from util-linux-ng 2.17.2

Usage: ldattach [ -dhV78neo12 ] [ -s <speed> ] <ldisc> <device>

ldattach:opened /dev/ttyS0

ldattach:set to raw 4800 8n1: cflag=0x8bc

ldattach: cannot set line discipline: Invalid argument

How can I get this PPS device setup?

Nick
