As far as I can tell, this is NOT a linuxPPS problem, but since this list
probably
has more Linux Folks running ntp on it than any of the ntp- lists,
AND they may be more familiar with the difference between the *.h files in
Linux and other OS (say FreeBSD) I am posting this problem here.

Hopefully someone will have an Idea.

Or someone will actually look at the NTP code and see what is going on.

Here is the problem.
If I look at the loopstats file under Linux I see entries like:

54705 98.274 0.000005000 -19.334 0.000000965 0.000072 4
54705 114.274 0.000005000 -19.334 0.000000963 0.000072 4
54705 130.274 0.000005000 -19.334 0.000000962 0.000073 4

With the SAME version of ntp, on FreeBSD I see:

54703 122.199 -0.000000951 34.646 0.000001907 0.000015 4
54703 138.199 -0.000000881 34.646 0.000001907 0.000015 4
54703 154.199 -0.000000657 34.646 0.000001907 0.000014 4

note column 3, which is the clock-offset, is truncated to
microseconds in Linux, while its given to nanoseconds in
FreeBSD.

Comparing the config.h files shows 100+ lines different, and
no obvious config variables that would cause the problem
(but of course there could be one).

So, whats causing Linux to report us, while FreeBSD
reports ns ???

Line I said, anyone have any thoughts, or willing to dig thru
the code to try to find the answer?
